Section 4.5: Bandwidth and Latency
In networking Bandwidth is defined as the transmission capacity of a communication channel. It is expressed in terms of megabits or megabytes per second. For example when we say the Bandwidth of a communication channel is 100BaseT we mean that the speed of the network is 100Mbps on a baseband or a broadband technology and the twisted pair cabling is UTP. Latency is the term used for delays which always happens while sending data. Low latency means high speed of the network and high latency means low network speed.
